Original Stylus Staff Bio
A survivor of the Dot.com start-up collapse of 2000 (pink slips from her Internet advertising gig went out the weekend before Christmas!), New York City-based Roxanne Blanford has been in the freelance music journalism business for almost 10 years, interviewing the likes of Nile Rodgers, Godsmack and 3Doors Down (and you mean, Rolling Stone hasn’t snatched her up yet!?). While music is her second love (writing comes first), she is frequently seen club hopping throughout New York’s hip and smoky music dives, catching the potentially greatest band of tomorrow while they are still unknown today. This intrepid lady will listen to almost any kind of music (mostly alt rock/indie and urban/hip hop soul), as long as its fresh and innovative. Roxanne occasionally manages to pay her bills by working in Internet marketing and sales. I guess some people never learn!
