Original Stylus Staff Bio
Dan, a different kind of Husker, originally hails from Nebraska, but now resides with his wife and two progeny in the suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri, USA. A public relations practitioner by profession, at 40, Dan spends his spare moments channeling the energy of two highschoolers into productive activities. Being a life-long fan of progressive rock, he spent most of his young days balancing his listening between jazz-fusion greats, such as Maynard Ferguson and Weather Report with prog giants, such as Pink Floyd and Yes. Today, Dan works as the communications manager (A.K.A. spin doctor) for a Finnish packaging company. To answer the inevitable question Dan receives constantly, "What is progressive rock?" he says to go listen to King Crimson's early albums for two weeks, then Yes' Close to the Edge for another week, and finally end up with The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis for a week, and then one may, after this month, get an idea of what progressive rock is.
