Original Stylus Staff Bio
Chris Andrews is a 23 year old technical support consultant for a finance/payroll company in Christchurch, New Zealand. He has been a music obsessive most of my life, though he didn’t learn a musical instrument until he was 19 – when he picked up a bass guitar at a party. Basically everything went from there, immediately forming a punk band with a bunch of friends which went on to gigs throughout his hometown (though never really striking any true success). He’s always had fun in his bands, and sees it as a primary reason to make music. Over the last couple of years he has been producing his own electronic music and has recently performed in numerous avant garde venues. He is thinking of moving into a music production role – he has been studying Digital Music creation and production techniques this year, and has set up his own home studio. He is very proud of his New Zealand origin, and carries a fondness for the acclaimed ‘Dunedin Sound’ that formed around the Flying Nun Records bands of the early 80s.
