The Sisters Love - Give Me Your Love

Soul Jazz Records are specialists for creating such experiences: you hear songs from Studio One, from old pre- or post- disco / funk / gospel / soul etc.- eras; and you will surely make discoveries: a lot of songs you like immediately, but never heard before. Dated, yes, but they stand the test of time. Why? I think it´s simply refreshing to look for those (old, long-gone) circles where a particular energy or sound or feeling was born and spread its wings. That´s the little big difference to today´s creating "trends" and "movements", with a lot of dusty old hats and dead fish at hand! In this case, the liner notes were a bit overpraising, that´s for sure (the winner for the best SJR-liner notes 2006 should be the essay accompanying the fantastic "Tropicalia"- compilation)!
