this review is WAY too harsh and borders on being totally incoherent. "The rhythm section aren’t as convincing—two lunks who look like they should be participating in a moonlit beachside circle-jerk with Jack Johnson"-- funny, but is that really necessary? The review seems like a knee-jerk reaction to cling to some fleeting indie-cred here at Stylus (which unfortunately seems more and more common)...
B-/C+ is a much more accurate rating.

A band who, in 2006, write a song called White Unicorn and get away with it ('cause it a gruff, hard-as-a-nail, unabashed sexy song), gets points from me. Sure, Wolfmother didnt invent any of their music. But why hold that against them? Just like Monster Magnet (2nd, 3rd en 4th record) or Trouble, Wolfmother write good, solid songs that make you feel excited again about hardrock inna Led Zeppelin-stylee. A B- would've been a more appropriate rating, I agree with Hammmd
