Cave In - Perfect Pitch Black

It's a shame the Cave In didn't recieve more airplay from their major label album. Though too glossy, it had some great songs. Jupiter remains their crowning achievement, and one of the best albums of the Oughts. Saw them in Boston recently, and they still know how to rock.

This album's a big grower. Cave In has an extraordinary back catalogue, and this album nicely encompasses both its major label melodic rock days and its previous incarnation as a colleague of Converge and Botch. Brodsky doesn't do the screaming on this album - that's the bassist, Caleb. I heartily recommend this album to any and everyone. Cave In also puts on a great live show.

I did wonder if the singing and screaming were different people, but couldn't find anything that could confirm or deny. And yeah, the album's a huge grower - I was pretty dismissive after first listen but I really enjoy it now.
