The Rolling Stones - A Bigger Bang
Nice to know that at least one other person thinks "Some Girls" and "Emotional Rescue" are great albums. I'd only apply the "meaningless" label to "Rescue" though.
wmdavidson: I've always thought Some Girls was their best album.
tired of the little dialetic shout-outs, get a new schtick, stylus. also 98% of the records you guys and perhaps girls write about are ridigly formalistic, we're talking pop and rock, get realistic. "sweet new-con" is laughable. "It's getting very scary/Yes, I'm frightened out of my wits/There's bombers in my bedroom/Yeah and it's giving me the shits/We must have lots more bases/To protect us from our foes/Who needs these foolish friendships/We're going it alone". 2nd grader bullshit. those freepers are probably in hysterics.
cw, "Some Girls" is my favorite also.
Oh, god, how boring! Andrew, you are so right: awful lyrics - music far away from any sense of adventure. This kind of mainstream is one big dead end street - they did some great albums 100 years ago. Please guys, prepare for your exile on Main St!
