how do you assign reviews? as in, why did the guy who has previously only reviewed hip-hop/r&b records review this one? just because he's from baltimore? not to say that people should only review things that they are likely to enjoy, this just seemed a bit odd.

That's a fair question, I guess. Hip hop/R&B isn't everything I listen to, although that happened to be what my first 4 reviews for Stylus were, and it won't be what I review exclusively in the future. I requested to review this album, and was not rejected on any grounds of what my niche is supposed to be, which I appreciate.
Also, for the record, I submitted this review with a rating of B-.
