Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway

This review is so off base, it's funny. Ghosts is one of the best CDs of 2003. What a joke.

Please disregard this review. Ghosts is a beautiful cd, one of Kozelek's best, and I seriously question whether the reviewer even listened to it, or any of Kozelek's earlier music. Country rock? James Iha??? Red House Painters were only very occasionally loud, rarely (if ever) "bombastic," and rather than a departure from Kozelek's earlier work, Ghosts is a near-perfect summation of it. He's a Johnny one-note, sure, but so were Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen. Those are the people to whom Kozelek should be compared, not the fucking Eagles.

This album is excellent. This review is bunk. A 5 year old could write better than this fool.

This was actually a really beautiful record (I heard it this weekend).

I just registered here in order to add my voice to the wtf about this review...this is one of the most off-base reviews I have EVER read. I am not a huge Kozelek fan but this record is easily one of the best of the year. What was this reviewer thinking? Also, it's just a TAD bitchy, doncha think?

A year after the fact, but I'd just like to chime in and say this review is worthless. Consistently, seemingly deliberately wrong. Terrible writing, terrible criticism.

this guy has no business reviewing albums...these types of totally off-base reviews are the reason Stylus has never gained the status as a trusted site for reviews, even though the site is generally pretty accurate. crap.
