Susumu Yokota - Laputa

Sharing a love of music as weird as this is too rare to waste energy debating the relative merits of its finest shades, but I will say that I welcome Yokota's frenzied turn. I love 'Sakura,' 'Grinning Cat,' etc. very much, but for me he's at his best at the absolute edge. Nobody, it seems, knows better than he (save perhaps the best of Rune Grammofon's artists) how to stop just short of plunging into the abyss. Others make a pointless soup of this kind of approach, but with 'Laputa' Yokota has earned my total trust.
