The Last Samurai - Movie Review

This is a FANTASTIC film - IMHO even better than ROTK, which I loved, and it wipes the floor with Gladiator. I don't know what film this reviewer was watching but it can't have been the same one I was. The whole cinema was transfixed throughout by the incredible performances from Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe among others, and the beautiful cinematography and score made the film incredibly emotional. YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

i totally agree with peterk but i don't think jtimmermann was watching the wrong movie - he just doesn't get it. he falls into the archetype for the cynical critic who must rip his subjected material to shreds in the name of intellectual critique. he needs to accept a movie for its intended goal - he missed this goal with the Last Samurai and he did the same with his bashing of School of Rock. If only the movie critics at Stylus were as intelligent and imaginative as the Stylus music critics. sigh, I guess I'll just stick to the music reviews...
