Blood Diamond - Movie Review

Saw this today coincidentally. A little surprised that you're giving it a B+ after reading your review, and most of your criticism was dead on. Hollywood seemingly has been making these high minded dramas for years (e.g., the Constant Gardener is another recent example) where the politics are merely plot device intended to put our above-the-title names in peril. Not knowing the veracity of the "conflict diamonds" conflict, the movie made me feel a little icky. Though, I have myself to blame for thinking Zwick (auteur of the hopelessly overrated Glory and Legends of the Fall) would deliver anything else. I'd probably put it around a C.
