Bizarre Love Triangle > every other 80's song, except maybe Temptation

100% agreed. Bizzare Love Triangle has always been my favorite new order song. And does Blue Monday even have a freaking chorus? I'm trying to hum it to myself and I can't figure it out. BLT's is instantly recognizable, never escapable

btw, the Blue Monday video is for Blue Monday '88, so technically the original Blue Monday has no video. But as for that claim that Blue Monday hasn't ever been reworked properly, Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head" is pretty brilliant.

I kind of have to disagree with soundalikes, mainly because i'm pretty sure that "Tribulations" trumps all BLT sound alikes.

True Faith > Bizarre Love Triangle > Blue Monday

Other then the FACT that Temptation and Blue Monday are 2 of the 10 greatest songs of all time ... Good Stuff ... Isnt the fact that the sleeve of Blue Monday cost Factory Records more $$ then they we're making on each sale make that better ... (maybe thats a urban legend)

I swore off posting on forums like this a couple years ago, but thought this was a good opportunity to point out Blue Monday totally rips off its signature beat from Donna Summer's "Our Love" which came out like 4 years earlier. I played these back to back for a friend once, who commented "yeah but the song is totally different!" True, but the beat, man, the BEAT!

It's a technicality, but they did make a video for Blue Monday at the time:

It was hardly ever shown and looks like it was done on a Commodore 64, so not much competition against the Bizarre Love Triangle one (though I don't like that video especially much, it just seems like a ton of flickery jump cuts between various random crap). Why does Blue Monday have to have a chorus anyway? Choruses are for jerks.
