Lee Jung Hyun - J-Pop Will Eat Itself

Yes! I've always been a little reticent to play Lee's music when i DJ - i think her voice might be a little abrasive for many people - but i regard her as one of the finest pop stars of her generation. It'll be interesting to see what her collaboration with Avex brings. I was delighted to see that she's gaining popularity in Japan and Mainland China (where Ba Kkwo still gets regular airplay, more than the Sammi Cheng cover) but i must admit i'm a little worried that some of the quirks that make her genuinely unique could be ironed out. To be honest, she might have been heading in that direction already. The repetitive, Latin-pop bandwagon-jump of Passion could have been a sign that she was losing her creative spark in Korea. I can't recommend her first four albums highly enough though.
