Aw man, I'm sorry - maybe it's the insomnia talking, but this doesn't make very much sense to me. Anyone feel like explaining it?
Nick, at the risk of inflating your ego exponentially (whether that might be a good or bad thing--you tell me), I must say--I thoroughly enjoyed this [list] and no matter how much you profess that it is not cogent, coherent and [staggeringly poignant], I love it! And we should hang out tomorrow!
Interestingly enough, Svankmajer actually did some of those 30-second promo bits that MTV commissioned in its early days. "Meat Love" being one of them, I believe.
58. Artists don’t know what their best songs are.

You could do a whole piece just on this.
liked the article -- the style strongly reminded me of a manuscript by some american dude i read when i was working for a publishing firm a couple of years ago -- can't for the life of me remember his name and i think it was only ever published in the states in the end -- it was entirely composed of semi-non-sequitur stand-alone sentences like your piece -- does this ring any bells or is it an unintentional similarity??
I have no idea who you mean, but I was kind of tgaking the mickey out of several people with this. And also kind of paying tribute, too.
fun fact: nick wrote this article wearing a viking helmet. so should it be read.
to clarify, this is a great piece. i liked:
24. The Manual; How To Have A Number One Hit The Easy Way by Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty is the only good book about music that I have ever read.
good call.
