I’ve never bought into the idea of iPod shuffling and the joys of putting your musical soundtrack in the hands of machine. For every serendipitous segue, more often than not I just run into an hour-long mix that I’ve put on there, thereby nixing the whole point of the enterprise. There has to be some way to set up my electronic devices to ignore anything over seven minutes (to get rid of most of the Merzbow I have on there, as well, among other things), but I haven’t really found an easy way to do it yet. I tried it, though, as an experiment a few days ago and the three songs that came up (that didn’t upset the flow completely by being overlong or overshort) were an interesting run: the main title theme to the TV show The Prisoner, Hilary Duff’s “Come Clean (2005 Mix),” and Fursaxa’s “Freedom.” Try it out yourself and post your results below…
