Luminfire & Beat Bach’s Roller Skate Bass: A Night at the Skate Castle

The following is a set I threw together early last month. It was co-compiled by a radio DJ friend of mine, who recently attained the alias Beat Bach’s. Essentially, the mix amasses some of the staples in mid-‘80s electro and early bass music. More specifically, these particular tracks retain some sort of nostalgia for growing up at skating rinks in the ‘80s. Any rink regular that missed out on “When I Hear Music” must have not been paying attention. The Skate Castle is indeed an actual establishment. However, I’ve been led to believe it’s not half as rad as it was “in my day.” As far as the track list goes, we (Beat Bach’s and myself) are a little embarrassed at how much money, time and energy we ended up investing in it.

01. Trinere – “Alone at Last” (Pandisc, 1992)
