- I must have nothing better to do today, why else would I be sitting here in my pajamas at 6 PM watching the Barbara Walters Oscar interviews?
- Sure, Eddie Murphy has become renown for playing multiple roles in movies, but he’s no Alec Guinness and Kind Hearts and Coronets is leagues above The Nutty Professor. Nonetheless, soon enough they may share an Acadamy Award win. Go figure.
- Helen Mirren was in Caligula? Why wasn’t she nominated for that? It seems like that’s the kind of role you’d never recover from. Malcolm McDowell certainly didn’t.
- Is it just me, or does the Oscar introduction short get more inane as the years go by? Wait, scratch that, nothing will ever be as horrendous as the time they digitally inserted Billy Crystal into the nominated films thinking it would somehow pass for humor.
- I see they’re interviewing Steve Carell right now, hey why not use this opportunity to ask why he wasn’t nominated?
- Yeah, we get it, Eddie, no one saw Pluto Nash, but this is hardly the time to be bringing it up. The Academy might just sneak in a quick screening - see Randy Quaid pretending to be a robot while you strut around like a moron - and unanimously decide to strip you of your nomination. I mean, you don’t see Miss Mirren constantly reminding everyone of her involvement in Caligula, do you?
- Alfonso Cauron, Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro González Iñárritu are known as the Three Amigos?… seriously?
- By the way, that interviewer was totally mocking del Toro when she picked him as the most handsome of the three directors. He’s totally not. Alfonso all the way!!!!
